Jharkhand College was established on 5th Sep 1985 by the fund raised from the contribution of social workers, eminent scholars and visionaries of Dumri, to provide higher education to the students of this remote area. The college is constructed on 7 acres of lush green land which is surrounded by trees in the radius of 1 km, a pleasant and calm place untouched by pollution which provides a perfect atmosphere for studies. It is in the outreach of 5 blocks Dumri, Topchanchi, Nawadih, Bagodar & Pirtand of Dhanbad, Bokaro & Giridih district.
The College campus is very clean and green, one feels pleasent in the atmosphere and
the peace adds beauty in the nature of the college making it a perfect place to learn.
The building is very large spacious and has seperate classes for each department. A well constructed building surrounded by boundary of 7?.6? height and having lecture rooms, laboratory, library, common room, computer section and separate lavatories for teaching, non-teaching and students
The college Library is in the area of 900 sq ft and contains large number of collection of books on vast titles apart from the books related with courses taught in the college. The reading room is well furnished and has uninterrupted supply of electricity.
The College has well equipped laboratory for conducting practical. The details of laboratory are Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Anthropology, Geography, Psychology, and Home Science of size ? 30X20 sq ft.
