Jharkhand College was established on 5th Sep 1985 by the fund raised from the contribution of social workers, eminent scholars and visionaries of Dumri, to provide higher education to the students of this remote area. The college is constructed on 7 acres of lush green land which is surrounded by trees in the radius of 1 km, a pleasant and calm place untouched by pollution which provides a perfect atmosphere for studies. It is in the outreach of 5 blocks Dumri, Topchanchi, Nawadih, Bagodar & Pirtand of Dhanbad, Bokaro & Giridih district. The region is very backward as majority of population is unaware of education and its power to uplift humankind moreover the region holds most of the population from SC/ST/BC class.
The College has two mini bus of model 709 to provide safe transportation to female students. The buses are donated by M.L.A and M.P of our constituency from govt. fund. The college has NSS unit which is very active and responsible towards the aim for which it came into existence.Recently the Blood donation camp was a huge success and got recognized and appreciated by the pople of Dumri.
The College NCC unit is a pride for us as the cadets has participated twice in the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. A good number of NCC students has been selected in the state police department as well as in various defence services of our country.
The college has NSS unit which is very active and responsible towards the aim for which it came into existence.Recently the Blood donation camp was a huge success and got recognized and appreciated by the people of Dumri.
